Visiting the Area Around Carcassone
Discover Carcassone, especially its medieval city. A "must see" would be the festivities on July 14, Bastille Day. All during summer, Carcassone offers a myriad of events: the famous festival in July features concerts, street performances, operas and more.

The medieval festivals take place in August.

The Midi Canal:

The Castles : Wander around the Aude area and visit the Cathare castles. Remember to sample the wines, particularly the wines from Malepère, Minervois, Corbières, as well as many others.

The Cavayere Lake : Jog, bike or take a romantic walk around the lake, which is only just 15 minutes from the house.

Villages: there are many villages worth visiting typical of the region, like Montolieu, Lagrasse..

Narbonne: take an excursion to the sea. Narbonne is only 60 kilometers away.
